Doug Jarvis Traditional Butcher and Deli is a popular award winning butcher shop located at the Papamoa Plaza in Papamoa. We are most famous for our extensive range of sausages, aged beef, young tender lamb, corn fed chickens and fresh NZ farm free pork. Everything is made fresh daily with outstanding quality. Doug is passionate about sausages and makes the traditional Cumberland and Lincolnshire. If you are after a Pork Pie, Lancashire Black Pudding, Faggot or Cornish Pastie then look no further.

Why Us?

My father was a butcher who, like myself, started at a young age. He brought 2 older brothers with him where they had their own slaughterhouse out the back of the Butchers Shop just outside of Manchester. I started butchering at 13 years of age and continued until I was 24 where I then attended University of Salford, Manchester, and studied Meat Inspection and Food and Hygiene. Once completed I then worked for the UK Government for 10 yrs until I moved to NZ.

As a second generation butcher with more than 38 yrs experience  I am confident I know my craft. I am proud to be slightly different from other butchers and more importantly I am happy to help create meat memories for all my customers. As many social gatherings are centred around food, I provide meat that deserves to be the centre of attention and conversation. All my meat is handpicked from local suppliers. Our beef and lamb is free range along with farm free pork and cornfed free range chicken.

We hope you enjoy Doug Jarvis Traditional Butchers meat as much as I do, because it really does matter where your meat comes from.

 We do Gluten Free sausages and Beef Burgers. Ask the team for our flavour.

Freezer Packs:

Purchase a whole or half beef, lamb or pig from us and we will cut and package to your requirements free of charge.
